TedX events are organized and hosted independently of the internationally acclaimed Ted Talks. Colorado is fortunate to be home to a variety of inventors, scientists, designers, and artists. This summer, TedXMileHigh is hosting a presentation called “Humankind” in Denver. This event will help enlighten guests and enrich communication about our world and the humans in it. Here’s what you need to know.
When and Where:
On June 22, 2019, TedX will take the stage at Denver’s treasured Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre. Doors open at 11am and a variety of speakers are set to present throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
What to Expect:
TedXMileHigh: Humankind will host 15 knowledgeable speakers and showcase 30 intriguing exhibits. Humankind will specifically focus on the human aspect of innovation and invention. Speakers come from a variety of industries and backgrounds, spanning technology, business, comedy, and more.
The focus of each presentation will examine and discuss the connection between technological advancements and the human role that helped spur progress. Without humankind and its boundless curiosity and knack for improvisation, we wouldn’t have many of the tools we utilize on a daily basis.
Speakers include Disaster Relief Technologist Sarah Tuneberg, Denver activist Theo Wilson, and more. Additional speakers and their schedules will be released closer to the event.
The After Party
Didn’t get enough during the presentations? Head down to Skyline Park to mingle with other attendees and meet the presenters at the official TedXMileHigh: Humankind After Party. Cold beer and delicious snacks will keep you fueled for an epic dance party.
TedXMileHigh is an essential piece of what makes our state so great. Colorado is known for its progress, open-minded attitude, and green innovations. While guests may be the immediate beneficiaries of this awesome event, Colorado is the real winner. When we come together to discuss innovation and share new ideas, we all benefit and grow.
