This month, take in some of the city’s thriving art scene, enjoy a crisp autumn afternoon in the park, or get into the holiday spirit. There’s a little something for everyone! Here are some of Boulder’s best events happening in November 2017.

One Night Only: Dia de Muertos

When: Thursday, November 2; 5pm

Where: Gordon Gamm Theater

A collaboration between the Dairy Arts Center and El Centro AMISTAD, this musical celebration of the Mexican Day of the Dead is sure to delight people of all ages. Come early to enjoy food, art, altars, and traditional dance performances in the lobby before the concert. There will even be face painting and a Catrinas costume contest, so don’t put away your Halloween makeup just yet!

NoBo First Friday Artwalk

When: Friday, November 3; 6pm – 9pm

Where: NoBo Art District

Explore Boulder’s burgeoning art community with a self-guided tour of North Broadway, beginning at Pine Street and ending at Highway 36. Meet the artists, see their studios, and support local businesses. Remember to keep your eyes peeled for pink flags along the way—they signal exciting surprises.

The Boulder Holiday Market

When: Saturday, November 4; 9am – 5pm

Where: Boulder Central Park

Take a walk in the park and get a leg up on your holiday shopping at the Boulder Holiday Market, located right next to the beautiful Boulder Creek. Featuring handmade goods from local artists, live music, fresh food, and more, this outdoor fall festival is a wonderful way to spend the day.

BMoCA + Todd Reed

When: Thursday, November 16; 5pm – 7:30pm

Where: Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art

Stop by BMoCA for some hors d’oeuvres and sparkling wine at the opening reception to the Todd Reed jewelry pop-up shop. Each one of Todd Reed’s one-of-a-kind pieces is handcrafted in Boulder using recycled metals and sustainably-sourced stones. You definitely won’t want to miss this! The shop is only here through Saturday the 18th—come Sunday, it will be gone.

The Nutcracker with the Boulder Ballet

When: Friday, November 24 – Sunday, November 26

Where: Macky Auditorium

This Thanksgiving weekend, the Boulder Ballet with the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boulder Children’s Chorale present Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. A performance of this beloved holiday classic makes a memorable activity for the whole family.
