Why You Need to Attend the 2017 Boulder Burgundy Festival

If the name Eric Asimov or Raj Parr ring any bells, this is one Boulder festival you absolutely won’t want to miss. Featuring New York Times wine critic and author Eric Asimov as this year’s keynote speaker and celebrity sommelier and fine wine guru Raj Parr, you may just have the time of your life while learning about and indulging in over 200 wines from beautiful Burgundy, France. With such a formidable line-up, we are very proud to be partners of this extremely special event.

The festival, hosted by Boulder Wine Merchant, is one of the leading Burgundy gatherings in the United States, attracting top Burgundy producers, as well as the leading figures in the wine industry from across the country. While it’ll be hard to attend every event during this three-day extravaganza, here are a few standouts that shouldn’t be missed:

Old and Rare Burgundy Wine Seminar

When: Friday, October 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Where: St Julien Hotel & Spa

Start the festival off with Master Sommelier Jay Fletcher discussing (and offering) old and rare Burgundy wines. This all-inclusive event will give both the novice and seasoned connoisseur fascinating insight into the origins and contemporary status of Burgundy wines, and is a perfect jumping off point to dive into this special weekend of wine.

Exclusive Burgundy Dinner with Eric Asimov

When: Saturday, October 14 at 6:00 p.m.

Where: Frasca Food and Wine

Enjoy “a night of unbelievable Burgundy selections” alongside Times wine critic Eric Asimov. Take part in the intimate atmosphere of Frasca in company with the leading wine experts and neighborhood connoisseurs alike. A perfectly curated all-inclusive menu with carefully crafted wine pairings will make this a night to remember.

Burgundy Seminar with Eric Asimov and Raj Parr

When: Sunday, October 15 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Where: St Julien Hotel & Spa

Featuring both Eric Asimov and Raj Parr, this seminar brings together a rare panel of acclaimed wine experts and Burgundy specialists. Rather than a lecture, this seminar has an approachable nature to it, allowing for a truly cohesive educational (and star-studded) event.

Grand Tasting

When: Sunday, October 15 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Where: St Julien Hotel & Spa

Conclude Boulder’s Burgundy Wine Festival at St Julien Hotel & Spa with over 200-featured wines from Burgundy, France. Imbibe, discuss, laugh, and learn about what may become your new favorite vintage with others from Boulder, in addition to those who made the pilgrimage from across the United States. Featuring more than 200 Burgundy wines under one roof, this event is the perfect closeout to the nationally acclaimed Burgundy Wine Festival.

Which tastings, dinners, or seminars are you planning to attend? We hope to see you there!
