Can’t-Miss 2017 Fall Festivals in Boulder

You’ve probably come to realize that no matter the season, there are always exciting events and festivals in Boulder. With fall, the story is no different. Here, we’ve selected four of the best fall festivals Boulder has to offer:

Fall Fest

When: September 15 – 17, 2017

Where: Pearl Street Mall

Fall is the season of change, and Fall Fest exemplifies that trait by transforming Pearl Street into a mecca filled with live music, a beer (wine and margarita) garden, arts and crafts vendors, and plenty of children’s activities. Celebrating its 30th year, Fall Fest 2017 will feature Firefly Handmade Market, arguably the best handmade-only artisan market on the Front Range, beer on tap from Avery Brewing Company, and musical performances by the best local bands in Boulder. Thirty years of planning has turned Fall Fest into a well-oiled machine, exhibiting the best of Boulder County.

Adventure Film Festival & Street Fair

When: October 6 – 8, 2017

Where: Boulder Theater

Entering its 13th year, the Adventure Film Festival’s ever-growing international appeal takes the event all over the world: from Boulder to Bozeman and Israel to Chile (with many more stops along the way). But still, this event shines brightest at its birthplace: Boulder, Colorado. Created by Jonny Copp from a dream while weathering a storm at the base of the Himalayas, Jonny sketched out his vision of a community-based and mission oriented outdoor adventure film festival. His hopes were that by tying together indie film and art with activism, a community could come together and affect true change. By all measures, the Festival is a resounding success.

This year, “embark on a transformative journey at the world premiere of the 13th annual Adventure Film Festival & Street Fair” as presented by Intrepid Travel and Patagonia. Take in the most inspirational and creative adventure films of the year at the historic Boulder Theater and then make your way to Pearl Street Mall for the Adventure Street Fair. Dance to live music, imbibe in the best craft beer and gourmet food pairings at the Intrepid Travel Beer Garden, and wander through the vendor village complete with the Adventure Art Experience, Patagonia Provisions tasting bar, and massive travel giveaways. This festival won’t disappoint the adventure seeker or film lover in you.

Boulder Burgundy Festival

When: October 13 – 15, 2017

Where: St Julien Hotel, PMG Restaurant, Flagstaff House, Frasca Food and Wine, Arcana Restaurant

Hosted by one of Boulder’s top wine shops, Boulder Wine Merchant, this festival focuses on all things France – so long as those things are wines from Burgundy, that is. This premier three-day event features some of the rarest Burgundy wines at Boulder’s most lauded restaurants. Start off the festival with Master Sommelier Jay Fletcher for an afternoon of Old and Rare Burgundy tastings and a seminar, enjoy an Exclusive Burgundy Dinner with Eric Asimov Saturday night, and finish off the weekend by heading to St Julien for the “Grand Tasting” – featuring over 200 Burgundy wines for you to experience.  If wine is your passion, this is perhaps the most “can’t-miss” festival on our list.

First Bite

When: November 10 – 18, 2017

Where: More than 50 Boulder restaurants

First Bite is Boulder’s coveted take on restaurant week. Top restaurants will be offering sampling menus and other prix-fixe options to the community in celebration of Boulder’s thriving dining scene. Year after year, this annual event brings national attention to Boulder’s very much well deserved culinary reputation. This weeklong festival is any foodie’s dream.

No matter your preferences, there’s a fall festival in Boulder you’re sure to love. Let us know which events you’re most looking forward to in the comments!
