Boulder Business Feature: Cedar & Hyde Mercantile

Cedar & Hyde is a boutique that opened its doors in October 2013 on the west side of Pearl Street in Boulder.  Owned and operated by two sisters, Christie and Poss Lambert, it has become a quintessential addition to Boulder’s shopping stops.

Inside Cedar & Hyde, the décor is rustic, artisanal, and very cozy.  Every aspect of their store is comfortable and inviting.   Table lamps, blankets, shrugs, and deliciously scented candles are tastefully placed in a casually elegant manner.

Each corner of the store has a personal touch; comfortable chairs that make you want to just sit right down in them. They even have their own personal collection of rugs, which are made by another Lambert sister. Talk about a brilliant idea, especially with winter upon us.

Cedar & Hyde’s collection offers selections both new and reclaimed.  It’s the perfect blend of modern and refurbished.  The store offers clothing for men, women, and children, as well as jewelry and home goods.  They take great pride in offering items made both locally and across the United States by various designers and small-scale artisans.

The selection of clothing, in true Boulder fashion, is durable yet in style, and practically impossible to resist.  Don’t be surprised if you’re still in the dressing room an hour after walking into the boutique.  One of the most impressive aspects of Cedar & Hyde is that not one of the items in the store is factory made.  Everything is made ethically, and the Lambert sisters take great pride in ensuring that.

Once you set foot inside of this boutique, it’s hard to bring yourself to leave.  The abundance of handcrafted home goods is impossible to resist.   Their collection of candles, featured on their Facebook page, is absolutely heavenly. Their #1 best seller is scented with a combination of ginger, cedar, wet firewood, and fresh spring water.

If you don’t have time to make it to the store, but are itching to take a peak at what they have to offer, their website and Facebook pages are a great place to start.

The Facebook page, which they make sure to update regularly, offers a look inside new arrivals.  Their website also offers a great view of their collections, but is still being updated.
