Boulder’s warm-weather traditions include a myriad of reasons to get outside and connect with others in our community. This month is just the start of it all! Here’s what’s going on around town:
When: Saturdays from April 1-November 18; 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.; Wednesdays from May 3-October 7; 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Where: 13th Street between Canyon and Arapahoe
Everyone’s favorite outdoor market returns for the season! Join your neighbors and peruse 150 vendors from around Boulder County selling everything from local fruits and vegetables, decorative plants and flowers, locally sourced crafts, prepared foods from local bakeries, gourmet cheese, small-batch honey, and much more.
When: Sunday, April 9; 1:00-5:00 p.m.
Where: Pearl Street Mall
It’s a day full of fun for adults and kids alike as we celebrate the coming of springtime and the more than 15,000 tulips that adorn the Pearl Street Mall. After the children (dressed as fairies and elves) prance around the Pearl Street Mall ‘welcoming the tulips,’ the Tulip Fairy invites everyone to the Tulip Fairy & Elf Parade as she leads everyone around the mall to celebrate all things spring. This year’s event also includes live stage performances, face painting, activities for children, and more.
Give your kitchen a break on Easter Sunday and bring the whole family to the Hotel Boulderado for a spectacular brunch featuring all kinds of delicious seasonal fare. The kids will love the face painting, selfie station, and candy bar!
When: Monday, April 17; 6:00 p.m.
Where: Congregation Rodef Shalom
Sing your way through the story of the Exodus with Judaism Your Way’s Dr. Caryn Aviv, who will lead this year’s community Seder at Congregation Rodef Shalom in Denver. Themed ‘Sing Our Way to Freedom,’ this delightful Seder includes a four-course, sit-down Kosher-for-Passover dinner and four glasses of wine as the group takes turns reading from a customized, inclusive Haggadah (Passover prayer book).
When: Wednesday, April 19; 6:30 p.m.
Where: The Hangar at Stanley
In this commemoration of all things spring, locally-owned Comida Cantina will host Melinda Kearney and Michèle Lorenza Ouellet, owners of Lorenza Rosé, for a delicious evening full of wine and food prepared by the generous and talented Comida chefs. You’ll gather at one long table—perfect for getting to know your neighbors—inside The Hangar at Stanley with Comida’s famous Taco Truck Tina parked right inside.
When: Wednesday, April 19; 7:00 p.m.
Where: Lee Hill Wineries
Two of my favorite things—wine and live music—come together at this unique progressive concert/tasting experience. Enjoy music performed by Boulder Philharmonic concertmaster Charles Wetherbee and classical guitarist Nicolò Spera along with wines from our very own North Boulder wineries—Bookcliff, Settembre Cellars, and What We Love.
Things are just starting to heat up in the Boulder-Denver music scene! Here’s what we can look forward to in April:
- Thievery Corporation on Friday, April 21
- Love and Special Sauce on Saturday, April 1
- Judah and the Lion on Tuesday, April 11
- Hot Buttered Rum on Wednesday, April 12
Enjoy Boulder this month with plenty of opportunities to explore and enjoy local art, music, and cuisine. What are you most looking forward to in April? Let us know in the comments!
