A Little Bit About Jennifer
|
I am originally from Northfield, MN and moved to Colorado in 1991. I am a snowboarder, surfer, photographer, yogini, movie fanatic, avid reader and painter. I started snowboarding on the golf course of my alma mater Shattuck St. Mary's School www.s-sm.org/ in 1989 and surfed for the first time in the Gulf of Mexico in 1983 with my cousin, Christian, after a hurricane. My feeble attempt at yoga in the late 1990's turned into a passion and I am a loyal student of Baron Baptiste www.baronbaptiste.com and Sky Van Horn www.skyogamassage.com.
I LOVE LIVING IN BOULDER and am intentional about supporting my friends and their local businesses. There is nothing more "Boulder" than heading to a farmer's market or grabbing excellent food on Pearl Street or exceptional Teas and Coffees in North Boulder. If you're new to the area, contact me and I'll send you my LIST OF FAVORITES. In the winter of 2009, I lost my father after an 11 month battle with Thymus Cancer. He was a life long member of the YMCA, the Vice President of the Minneapolis YMCA and eventually a fund raising consultant in support of YMCA's www.jcegbert.com. Needless to say, I grew up with the notion that COMMUNITY is everything. He was also a Board of Trustees member for the Sioux YMCA. After he passed away, I was nominated to step into his place as a trustee; quite the honor if you ask me. As a member of the Board of Trustees for the Sioux Indian YMCA, I am committed to helping to make an difference in the lives of others. My intention is to see to it that no family member of that particular YMCA goes hungry; that no child is cold in the winter or never gets to ride a bicycle because the resources are not there. Better yet, that no Sioux Y Member has to say, "No," to camp, college or life because they can't afford anything. Please contact me if you have donations. I am happy to send them in yours or your organization's name. The website for the Sioux Indian YMCA is www.siouxymca.org |
