2020 Virtual Memorial Day Weekend Events in Boulder, Colorado

As the weather begins to warm, Boulderites are once again taking to the outdoors to enjoy our city’s inviting natural beauty. May usually brings a host of events to Boulder’s outdoor spaces. However, this year many festivals and activities will transition to online formats due to COVID-19 restrictions. It’s crucial for our community to continue to support local businesses by participating in virtual events this Memorial Day. Here are some great ones just around the corner.

Bazaar Times: Virtual Boulder Creek Festival

When: May 22 – 25, 2020

For the past 30 years, Boulder Creek Fest has been our city’s kick off to summer. Aptly named, Bazaar Times seeks to engage the greater community in a group event while supporting local artists, retailers, and restaurateurs. This four-day shopping extravaganza involves two separate interactive times in which guests can chat with vendors, win prizes, and learn new skills at workshops and seminars. RSVP on Facebook, here

beMused – An Experimental Art Party

When: May 22, 2020, 4 – 5:40 pm

What was originally a public event complete with interactive exhibitions and performances is shifting to an online format. In collaboration with Boulder Experiments in Arts and Technology (B.E.A.T.), the Museum of Boulder will livestream guest speakers, performers, and musicians. Support our vibrant artistic community by logging on to this interesting event.

Boulder County Farmers Market

When: May 23, 2020

Each winter, Boulder residents look forward to the opening of the Boulder Farmers Market just as much as we anticipate long, sunny days and dry hiking trails. The market recently announced that ITthey will open on Memorial Day weekend with certain restrictions in place to keep shoppers and vendors safe. Reserve a shopping time slot to visit the market in person or stay virtual by ordering online from BCFM2GO for fresh, seasonal produce and goods.

When: May 25, 2020, TBD

Often cited as one of the country’s best 10k races, the BOLDERBoulder has moved its live race day to Labor Day, but will also host its highly anticipated Memorial Day race virtually. Register online and participate from anywhere to join in the fun. $5 of each registration will go toward Colorado’s COVID-19 relief fund. Tune in to the BOLDERBoulder live broadcast on race day morning to participate with our awesome community, don a funky costume, and get outside. After all, that’s what this race is all about!

Despite coronavirus restrictions, we can still support local businesses and participate in Memorial Day weekend festivities. Invite friends and neighbors to log on, lace up, or schedule a produce pickup this upcoming weekend.
